Unclaimed Property Each year, businesses and government agencies, also known as “holders,” report millions of dollars to the state. The Arkansas Auditor of State is statutorily obliged to return unclaimed property to its rightful owners or heirs. We do this through a program called the Great Arkansas Treasure Hunt.

The Great Arkansas Treasure Hunt, Arkansas’ unclaimed property program, is getting a facelift. Auditor of State Dennis Milligan announced Thursday (Feb. 1) that moving the website to a .gov address will instill more public confidence. “Today, on National Unclaimed Property Day, I am announcing that we are moving our website from claimitAR.com to claimitAR.gov,” Milligan said.

Report Property To ensure unclaimed property can be returned to its rightful owner, state law requires businesses and government agencies to file unclaimed property reports annually with the Arkansas State Auditor’s Unclaimed Property (UCP) Division.
